Good Find Friday: #JewsAndBaseball

On Sunday afternoon, PBS played the documentary “Jews and Baseball: An American Love Story.”  Seattle is kind of a baseball town.  It’s true that the Seahawks are popular, but the Mariners are also a really big attraction.  During the time I’ve lived here, I’ve learned to enjoy the slow pace of baseball and the personalities of the ball players and announcers.

Since I’m late to the sport, I learned a lot by watching this picture.  I never knew about Hank Greenberg or Sandy Koufax. I think you’ll enjoy this movie – plenty of self-deprecating humor and lighthearted moments which temper more serious topics, like the anti-Semitism which was prevalent in the league during the 1950s.

This week, your favorite team is at the top of the standings – play ball!
