This year’s #GivingTuesday is already in the books, but that doesn’t mean you can’t keep the giving spirit going for the rest of December.

Are you overcome with all of the worthwhile charities out there? Charity Navigator can help you find something that interests you. Enter a keyword for your favorite cause or browse categories like Animals, Environment or Health. They also provide a snapshot of the financial health of the agency so you can make informed decisions.

Here are 3 charity suggestions:

  1. Nick Kristof has a wonderful list in his article, “Gifts With Meaning.” I highly suggest Heifer.org. They are responding to the worldwide hunger crisis by providing livestock, seeds and skills training. You can get started with as little as $10.
  2. I’m a fan of Special Olympics. You might be interested to know that there is never a charge to the athlete.
  3. I also support Citymeals-on-Wheels, a terrific service that delivers meals to the elderly in New York, a city I love dearly. As part of your giving this year, be sure to choose a community close to your heart.

And don’t forget to get matching requests in by the end of the year. Many employers will match your generosity.

Giving feels good – get going. Enjoy!
