“I had failed…on an epic scale.”

It’s hard to imagine that this statement comes from the author of the “Harry Potter” series, books which have sold over 400 million copies and have been translated into 68 languages.

I was especially inspired by JK Rowling’s video for the month we’ve been talking about feedback. Life was certainly giving her plenty of feedback about what wasn’t working. She notes, “By every usual standard, I was the biggest failure I knew.”

However, hitting bottom gave her a startling opportunity. The only place to go was up. She remembers, “Failure meant stripping away the inessential…I was set free.”

If you’re feeling a little lost at the moment, bookmark her speech. Your tough circumstances may be giving you a chance to kickstart your own big idea.
